DESCRIPTION
The estate in AOC Pessac-Léognan is located between Léognan and Martillac. The company has been shaped since the late 1980s by the infamous Lurton family, of great reputation.
In 1994 it was taken over by Daniel and Florence Cathiard, owners of Château Smith Haut Lafitte. The quality has been on a constant upward trend since then.
The estate of Château Cantelys is one whole, located on a beautiful elevated gravel slope. This is mainly important for good drainage of the soil after rain. Average age of the sticks is 20 years. The château is mainly focused on red wine production, of the 24 hectares of vineyards, approximately 65% hectares are merlot, cabernet sauvignon and cabernet franc. The remainder is planted with Sauvignon Blanc and Semillon.
TASTING NOTE
Bright yellow colour with green hue. Well balanced nose with ripe apricots, peaches and hints of pineapple, a whiff of lemon peel in the background. On the palate will balanced with creamy texture yet crisp acidity, juicy fruit quoting the nose, very good length.
