Royal Brackla 12 Years Old Oloroso Sherry Cask Finish Single Malt Scotch Whisky
Royal Brackla Distillery was founded by Captain William Fraser in 1812 from his farm on the Cawdor Estate near Inverness. With so many illicit distilleries in the local area, he shipped his whisky to London where it was tasted by King William IV, who bestowed the first Royal Warrant for a whisky in 1833.
Today, this opulent Single Malt is finished in a variety of sherry casks to give fascinating spice character and depth of flavour.
Nose: Sherried fruit cake, buttered malt loaf, and stone fruits.
Palate: Peaches, dried apricots, dark berries, and cherries mingle with caramelized nuts, chocolate raisins, brown sugar, and baking spices.
Finish: Wafts of sweet, tangy oak, sugared fruit, and almonds.
