DESCRIPTION
Celebrating in 2020 its 300 years of creation, Maison Champy is the oldest Negociant of Burgundy. Founded in 1720 as the first established wine house, a large part of its 21 hectares of vines in the Côte de Beaune – especially in Pernand-Vergelesses – organically in order to preserve and highlight the true character of this exceptional terroir.
Dedicating the same thorough process for its estate wines and its growers’ plots allows Dimitri Bazas, technical director and oenologist of Champy for the past 20 years to reach excellence vintage after vintage.
TASTING NOTE
In the glass, the wine has a fresh ruby red color with purple accents. The nose is very open, with notes of small black fruits and vanilla with woody notes. The Maison Champy Bourgogne is fresh in the mouth, smooth and round. It is a very lively and structured wine with fine-grained tannins and good acidity, so it is certainly a wine that can also age well for a few years.
