Maison Champy Beaune Premier Cru "Aux Cras" 2017
Celebrating in 2020 its 300 years of creation, Maison Champy is the oldest Negociant of Burgundy. Founded in 1720 as the first established wine house, a large part of its 21 hectares of vines in the Côte de Beaune – especially in Pernand-Vergelesses – organically in order to preserve and highlight the true character of this exceptional terroir.
Dedicating the same thorough process for its estate wines and its growers’ plots allows Dimitri Bazas, technical director and oenologist of Champy for the past 20 years to reach excellence vintage after vintage.
Beautiful dark garnet color with intense violets hints. The nose is very delicate with aromas of flours (violettes, roses) and light notes of fruits like blackcurrant sand blackberries buds. Nice minerality on the palate, also very elagant and a little bit spicy. The final is a little salty and a bit draining. This wine is very well balanced, rich and elegant with a fine adgeing potential.
